12. LOVEBOMB

This band came out of nowhere together- if ‘nowhere’ means a session-gig at the Restaurant high up in the Radio-Tower Berlin 2008. We also got our old friend Friedemann- who also lived in Berlin- back to Freiburg for this project.
Elke, Bella and i set up a fine 3-voices line up in the way Crosby, Stills and Nash or Fleetwood Mac had done this. We played every week in Bella’s Living room to work on voice arrangements, and also picked up a 4th singer, Sascha.
It was great- and the audience loved our little ‘supergroup’. Things weren’t going to last forever, and around 2014 we split again into what we’re originally were: two duos, a bassist Elke and me kept- and an additional singer with his own projects.
After this heart-rending experience we made just one more record as CHERRYCHORDS as a trio, the german-lyrics WIR HABEN DEN TEUFEL BESIEGT (we defeated the devil / 2017). It was a demo-recording at low quality. This was not what these songs deserved, but Friedemann was keen to release this set.
With a little more work it would have been a very good last record in our 3-piece-line up, but it wasn’t. Soon after that we parted with him in early 2018.

Since then Elke and i just worked as a duo and haven’t recorded another album yet. i had so much work to do with other bands from Folk and Country to Rock’n’Roll that we retired a bit with our own stuff when we moved to the Elsass/France.
The last collaboration was our Classic-Rock Coverband SHE AND THE BOYS, which was founded by our friend and lead singer, Sandra. The audience loved us, but to be honest, after all we’ve done before it was a step back- to play Beatles, Doors and Party-stuff like HUSH and BORN TO BE WILD. It was a very good band though.

Now all this is just history.
But we’re still there, singing and playing for Freedom- in a world gone completely mad. We were always deeply into both politics and spirituality – and sang about all this many times, in songs like TOMORROW, CANDY, BROKEN TOY, OVER, SLOW MOTION, ARE YOU STILL ABLE, POISON TONIGHT, CONSPIRACY, 7 BILLION PEOPLE, EVOLUTION COUNTDOWN, BLUE HOUR and many more.

We’ve putted all our heart and soul in creating, singing and recording these songs, always.
